A little comment on the word KRINGLE.
It's associated with the meaning "contorted", "intricate",
referring to the complicated shape.
Many products are called KRINGLE:
SALTKRINGLE (pretzel);
KOMMENSKRINGLE (a yeast bun in the "kringle" shape, individual size, with carraway seeds);
SUKKERKRINGLE  (a yeast bun in the "kringle" shape, individual size, sprinkled with coarse sugar);
CHOKOLADEKRINGLE (a chocolate goodie);
(FOEDSELSDAGS)KRINGLE (served at parties or on Sundays - one kind is made from yeast bread dough, with varied filling,
another kind is made in the Viennese pastry style, with varied filling;
as you take so much trouble over the shape, you don't slice it up in the kitchen, but on the party table).
